Headed to Atlanta? GC Buying Group’s summer conference is ready for buyers

ATLANTA — GC Buying Group is preparing its summer education conference taking place at Atlanta Market later this month. Kicking off the conference will be the GC Party in the Kitchen for members and reps on the evening of Wednesday, July 17.

A record number of store members will attend store group discussions and a special message from keynote speaker Warren Shoulberg the next day, the group said in a release.

In addition, eight key GC vendors will present trainings for small groups as store buyers rotate through eight individual vendor stations. The Vendor Showcase will feature 40+ vendors, including vendors new to GC Buying Group and vendors introducing new products. Showroom owners in building 2, 8th floor, will host GC members late afternoon with drinks and bites, along with product reviews.

“We’re thrilled that more than 100 buyers, representing 60 stores, have registered for the GCX educational event,” said Janis Johnson, president and founder of Gourmet Catalog/GC Buying Group. “Retailers are excited to kick off second half with the opportunity to make buying decisions and talk one-on-one with key new vendors.”

GC recently added new member benefits and sales tools to reinforce the existing special exclusive events, discounts, extended terms and networking the buying group offers.

“As GC proudly celebrates our 44th year of serving independent retailers, we continue to streamline processes to build better relationships and strengthen the bridge between GC stores and vendors,” said Johnson.
